In the hot and dry environments the most common weathering process is the physical weathering, also known as abrasion. Specifically the abrasion caused by the wind is the dominant in this areas. The wind is known for it's cutting power, and over time it manages to erode the rocks and turn them slowly into tiny particles, thus forming send.
