Hi!

The mathematical expression πr means pi times the radius.

                 π means pi or 3.14
r means radius which is half of a diameter

When these two symbols are put right next to each other like so
πr it means you are multiplying them.

                  (
π)(r)

π·r
                  (3.14)r
