(f + g)(x) = 3x² + 2x – 1 and g(x) = 2x – 2

This is the sum of 2 functions f(x) + g(x), that means:

f(x) + g(x) = f(x) + 2x-2 = 3x² + 2x – 1

So f(x) =
3x² + 2x – 1 - g(x) or f(x) = 3x² + 2x – 1 - (2x-2)

f(x) =
3x² + 2x – 1 - 2x +2

f(x) =
3x² + 1
