Solve the absolute value equation algebraically, -8|-x-6|+10=2

-8|-x-6|+10=2
-8|-x-6|+10-10=2-10
-8|-x-6|=-8
(-8|-x-6|=-8)/-8
|-x-6|=1
then -x-6=-1 or -x-6=1
first one equals x=-5 (-x-6=-1)
second one equals x=-7 (-x-6=1)
