Both sides of the equation contain log base 6. Therefore, the input into each log must be equal.

[tex]log(a) = log(b) \rightarrow a = b[/tex]

Set up equation where inputs are equal:

[tex]5x - 8 = 22[/tex]

 Solve for x:

[tex]5x = 22+8 = 30 \\ \\ x = (30/5) = 6[/tex]

Answer is A) x=6
