distance formula = sqrt (x2 - x1)^2 + (y2 - y1)^2
(-1,-3)...x1 = -1 and y1 = -3
(11,-8)...x2 = 11 and y2 = -8
now we sub
d = sqrt (11 - (-1)^2 + (-8 - (-3)^2
d = sqrt (12^2) + (-5^2)
d = sqrt (144 + 25)
d = sqrt 169
d = 13 <=====length of AB
