An isosceles triangle has two equal sides. If two of the sides are 5 inches and 2 inches how long is the perimeter?

The two equal sides must necesseraly be 5 inches, because if two sides were 2 inches and the other was 5, it would disrespect the triangle's condition of existence (which states that the sum of the two smallest sides of a triangle must be bigger than the the biggest side, and the module of the subtraction of the two biggest sides of the triangle must be inferior to the smallest side)

So, 5+5+2 = 12 inches
