Are sleeping pills the same as anesthesia?

Technically they're not, they both can be incredibly dangerous with a use of either. But, the two are completely different. Basically with Anesthesia you don't experience rem and it's different from a deep sleep or a normal sleep for that matter, you're numb and your skeletal muscles are muscles are stopped when under. With sleeping pills it's a deep or regular sleep (:
