The value of the linear coefficient of thermal expansion is : α= 2.841 * 10⁻⁶ (ºC)⁻¹

Li = 0.4m

ΔL = 0.1 mm = 0.0001m

T1 = 30ºC

T2 = 118ºC

ΔT = 88ºC

α =ΔL/(Li*ΔT)

α =0.0001m /(0.4m * 88ºC)

α = 2.841 * 10⁻⁶  (ºC)⁻¹
