I believe it is D. Just ignore the 3 then subtract 2/7 from the 4/7, which is 2/7. Now put the 3 back and you'll have 3 4/7.

To answer, you first have to convert the mixed number, 3 4/7, into an improper fraction. You do this by multiplying 3 by 7 and then adding 4, which is 25/7. Now you can do 25 - 2 = 23/7. 23 ÷ 7 = 3 2/7, which is your answer. (D)
