Gale is in the right on this situation, rather than leaving others to struggle so he can save himself, he chooses to help take a stand against injustice. He chooses the more dangerous path in order to help others in the long run. Katniss and Gale would have been, without a doubt, able to survive and maybe even thrive on their own. Although, Gale doesn’t seem to be able to live with the fact that his own people are being treated so horribly.
