Solution:

Note that:

  • Given points = (-2,y) and (0,-4)
  • Slope = -13/2
  • Formula: y₂ - y₁/x₂ - x₁

Forming an equation:

  • y₂ - y₁/x₂ - x₁ = Slope
  • => -4 - y/0 - (-2) = -13/2

Solving the equation:

  • => -4 - y/0 + 2 = -13/2
  • => -4 - y/2 = -13/2
  • => -4 - y = -13
  • => -y = -13 + 4
  • => -y = -9
