a slope of 3 means the gradient is 3 so we get y=3x+c as derived from the linear formula. we then sub in x=2 and y=-0.5. this gives us c=-6.5.

The equation would be y=3x-6.5

I think this is right.

We know, principle equation of line: y= mx + b
Here, m = 3

Calculate the value of b:
-0.5 = 3*2 + b
b = -0.5-6
b = -6.5

Now, substitute their values into the expression:
y = 3x - 6.5

Hope this helps!
