ANSWER

Since probably part of the pie was already eaten therefore we find the fration of the pie in the beginning which is

= 1

= 5/5

Fraction William ate;

= 3/4 of 1

= 3/4 of 5/5

= 3/4 × 5/5

= 3/4

CONCLUSION

A fraction is a part of a whole so no matter how the fraction would increase or decrease the part William ate will remain the same
