Here, (x₁, y₁) = (1, -7)
(x₂, y₂) = (-2, 5)

Now, (y₂-y₁) = m.(x₂-x₁)
5-(-7) = m.(-2-1)
12 = m(-3)
m= -12/3
m= -4

So, your final answer is -4

Hope this helps!

the slope fomula is x1 - x2/ y1 - y2

-2 - 1 / 5 - (-7)
=-3 / 12
 which simplifies to
- 0.25
Therefore the slope is  -0.25x

Hope that makes sense :)
