They suffered from harsh living conditions, severely cramped living sections, outbreaks of diseases, and painful treatment from guards and/or commandants. When prisoner exchanges were suspended in 1864, prison camps grew larger and larger. Overcrowding brutalized camp conditions in many ways. Brainliest plz :)
