People traveling to an island accidentally introduced mice into an ecosystem that previously had no mice. The population of mice quickly grew out of control. It started harming populations of native plants and birds. Scientists offered two solutions. One was to introduce cats to the island. The cats could hunt and eat the mice. The other suggestion was to introduce a disease that could infect the mice and reduce their population.

I would introduce the cats if it is a suitable environment for them. I say this because the disease could kill much more species than just mice. That could ruin the whole ecosystem by killing animals that are necessary for the ecosystem to function.
