What is "Hydrophobia"?

Literally "fear of water".  In bio it means materials that sort of repel water such as oil.  You'll see this when you study the phospholipid bilayer of the cell membrane.  On the other hand, hydrophilic means "water loving" or materials that are drawn to water.
