What is an equation of the line that passes through the point ( 8 , − 4 ) and is parallel to the line x − 4 y = 12 x−4y=12?

Answer:

as the line is parallel we do not change x-4y what we change is the result x = 8 & y = -4 so the result is 8 - 4 (-4) = 24 so the equation is 24
