By getting the energy from its environment of the host cell. It gets it from the cytoplasm of the host cell (keep in mind, viruses feed off of the host cell, so it makes sense that they don’t create their own energy, they get what they need from the host cells environment, in this particular case it would be the cytoplasm Bc that’s where glycolysis occurs
