Given:

[tex]x^{8}+2 x^{4}-4 x^{3}+x^{2}-1[/tex]

To find:

The coefficient of the term of degree 4.

Solution:

Given polynomial is [tex]x^{8}+2 x^{4}-4 x^{3}+x^{2}-1[/tex].

Degree means power of the variable x.

The term which contains degree 4 is [tex]2x^4[/tex].

Coefficient of [tex]2x^4[/tex] is 2.

Therefore the coefficient of the term of degree 4 in the polynomial is 2.
