Third-parties can change the national attention to a certain issue. They can take votes away from major political parties candidates, causing it to influence the outcome of elections. NOTE THAT THIRD PARTIES HARDLY EVER WIN ELECTIONS IN THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGNS.
