Michael is helping with the school play by measuring fabric for the costumes. He needs 9 yards of fabric. He has 12 feet of fabric. How many more feet does he need?

one yard = 3 feet

9 • 3 = 27 feet

27 - 12 = 15 feet

michael needs 15 more feet of fabric.
