Let's assume

number of nickels =n

number of dimes =d

we are given

total number of coins =9

so, we get

[tex]n+d=9[/tex]

we know that

1 nickel =$ 0.05

and

1 dimes =$0.10

so, total amount is

[tex]=0.05\times n +0.10\times d[/tex]

we are given

total amount =$2.15

so, we get

[tex]0.05n +0.10d=2.15[/tex]

so, we get system of equations as

[tex]n+d=9[/tex]

[tex]0.05n +0.10d=2.15[/tex]................Answer
