height = 14 in

the volume (V) of a cone can be calculated using the formula

V = [tex]\frac{1}{3}[/tex] × area of base × height ( h) ( substitute in given values )

42 = [tex]\frac{1}{3}[/tex] × 9 × h

42 = 3h ( divide both sides by 3 )

h = 14
