The state of Maryland argued that they have the right to tax a federal bank when it's utilizing state lands
Obviously the case went to McCulloch and that's why states are not allowed to tax federal banks

Hello! In McCulloch vs Maryland, the State of Maryland argued that McCulloch, a cashier at the bank, needed to pay his taxes. The final result was that Maryland didn't have the authority to tax the bank. Hope this helps! ^-^
