In this question we have two absolute values which are

[tex] |-12| \ and \ |8| [/tex]

Absolute value is always positive. That is absolute value of negative number is the positive number and absolute value of positive number is again a positive number.

So we have

[tex] |-12| =12
\\
| 8| = 8 [/tex]

And

[tex] 12>8 [/tex]

So the correct option is the first option, that is ,

[tex] |-12| > |8| [/tex]
