k+3/4k-2 * (12k^2 -3) would become k+3/2(2k-1)*3(2k+1)(2k-1).

Cross out the (2k-1)'s. Then we get k+3/2*6k+3 Now we just multiply

We then get, (6k^2+21k+9)/2
